Count Caedis - The Undying
Undying Mage
Story:
Though its true name has never been unearthed, ever since the Age of Heroes ended the moniker of this Undying Lord has rung fear in the hearts of Kalidorians: ‘Count Caedis’. Not much is known of its history, other than the first mentions of its name having first arose upon the lips of traumatized refugees across the southern reaches of the island. There have been no recorded sightings of it, only dark whispers upon heavy wind. A common saying amongst the ‘survivors’ of its assaults is that Count Caedis simply set them alone free to follow them from settlement to settlement, making them unwilling heralds of its destruction. It is chronicled as having a sick fascination with tormenting those it chose to let live. Some scholars even suggest that it may even have fed off of the negative emotions it evoked in those poor souls that it chose.
Death: When the Undying fell so too did many of his creations. With the disappearance of Count Caedis apparently happening near the end of the Shadow War many believe that Count Caedis fell alongside the Undying, Himself. Others claim that it never truly left.
Spirit Item Description: A crown crafted of bone was said to materialize upon those chosen to be a herald of Count Caedis. Fuelled by necromantic magic, the headpiece was far from ornamental as it lent the possessor a taste at the power of its master.
